I was under the impression that the switch was an x86 device.

Pretty sure it’s emulating whatever kind of risc processor that the original roms wanted. Might even be a physical chip if it runs the roms perfectly.

One would hope that playing it in HD instead of 4K would be an option upfront before downloading... On both the HDD and GFX card side of things. I’m glad that 4k will push the technology forward but right now it’s just an unnecessary thorn in my side. I’m not sitting 3 feet from my tv, so it’s not like I’d benefit.

Dude.. KQ4 The Perils of Rosella. When night hits and you end up in front of the haunted house or the graveyard? I was maybe 8 or 9 when I played it and I can still remember my dread. The idea of a day/night cycle alone blew my mind.

The first game that always comes to mind that freaked me out was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. After you get through the catacombs, you have to open a sarcophagus, and you are treated to a full screen image of the skeleton inside while (on adlib) an incredibly eerie and jarring rising pitch plays. It’s the same…

You’re assuming the image is a giant sprite, but you could load straight bitmap-style data... It would just take up the entire cart and wouldn’t move nearly as fast.

This is all very positive, but something weird can happen when all the minorities start to group up and develop their own agendas. People laugh when they talk about having a ‘mens’ days, or they are terrified when you talk about a white grouping, but things really need to be equal in all ways to make this work.

And who buys loose P.E. Uniforms..? I suspect he was selling them to a very specific market, which is the only way the money makes any sense.

I didn’t recognize that animation because it’s running at the proper framerate. My old 286 couldn’t pan the shot like that without practically blowing smoke... Even with the turbo button on.
