ahhh a sam biddle article... i should have known.

yelp is a cesspool? thats news to me.

another shameful over sharing sam biddle article

im with you

Interesting. I work for a whole seller of toys. We target a 40% margin. Depends on the item. Obviously the higher the retail price, the lower the margin. I still think Best Buy is getting a better deal than 10% versus a regional chain. Either way, it's tight.

That is very possible. It doesn't seem like we will find out anytime soon. It's not unusual for retailers to sell products at a "loss" to attract customers into a store. I could see that happening with Apple items to make up for it on high margin accessories...

yes, a hottie just posted on my friends status below mine. i didnt know she existed. i promptly hit on her.

1 to 2% is the net profit. not the gross margin. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

i did not read the macworld article if that is what you are asking. but a gross margin of 3 to 5% is equal to a loss 100% of the time. no matter what you are selling.

stupid article is stupid.

you obviously do not understand sales. 3 to 5% is not profitable. I am sure best buy isnt paying $380 apple to sell an ipad 2 at retail for 399. it doesnt make sense. i bet they get at a minimum 35% off the retail price.
