Without a doubt both are significant, there’s a presumption that people who aren’t white or who have a “foreign” accent are of a lower class - and where they are professionals (like doctors), that their education must be of a lower standard.
The utter gall and audacity of this issue astounds me. The citizens of countries that Britain colonised (including mine) went there on their invitation to help re-build after WWII. They extended a blanket judgement saying that those people and their children could stay indefinitely and now want to call them illegal…
Lammy will likely never again have a prominent position in Labour because he stopped towing the Party line. But fuck them. The older he gets, the more unapologetic he is about standing up for the right of black people and marginalised people. And he’s wonderful, and we need him.
There’s a link in the first sentence of the article that goes to what it’s satirizing.
Whole lot of nope. Survivors of trafficking don’t want this. It’s a horrible bill that only people who either hate sex workers or don’t understand how trafficking works would support. https://survivorsagainstsesta.org/

This comment showed up earlier than I expected.
It also labels a privilege things that either should not be a privilege (ie not being shot by police, not being assumed to be a shoplifter, having decent schools and grocery schools near you), or that you have no control over or both.
Hey man, they worked hard for that fragility.
GNU Terry. GNU Stephen.
Terry Pratchett Lives!!
it’s relative.
That might only help to put sex workers in a vulnerable position if they essentially go on a sex strike, since they need to work to live. They aren’t part of a union that most likely has strike compensation.
Jeans are the worst. I hate them even for not exercise activities.
