I'm glad you got some backup on this - fingers crossed he does it early this week!
You can look at the data that Google has picked up about you based on your browsing history - your estimated age, interests etc. Google thinks I'm 45-54 (I'm 27) and that I like islands and beach holidays.
I also volunteer as friend. Wanna hang out and talk about stuff?
That sounds so difficult - and so frustrating! I know that calorie counting takes up a lot of time and effort and I understand why it doesn't feel possible long-term.
Sorry to hear therapy isn't working for you :( Have you considered changing therapist? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Solution Focused Therapy can often be very helpful for emotional eating and depression, but the connection you feel to your therapist is way more important than their theoretical orientation.
Wait, I thought there was mortal sins and venial sins, and you couldn't be forgiven of the former? Or did that go out with Limbo?
That's completely true. Call someone a grammar Nazi here in conversation and the whole room goes quiet as tumbleweed drifts through...
Thank you, I didn't know that! I'll check that out now, as it's very relevant for my work and contrary to what I was taught at college, which is a bit scary. Thanks again!
My comment was not a my-continent-is-better-than-your-continent taunt, it was 1) a statement that I don't know enough about eating in your country to make a statement about obesity there, and 2) an observation that the foods that my sister has tasted are not what she's used to and not to her taste. It's so hard, because an alcoholic can decide to never drink again, a smoker can decide to never smoke again, but someone with a food addiction has to face triggers every day and learn to manage them. It's not easy. Congratulations on losing so much weight, that's a very difficult thing to do and you've shown amazing…
Have you considered life coaching/therapy? Where I live, a lot of obesity is down to emotional eating, using food to try and satisfy other needs.
That's pretty much what Liberal means in Europe too, and we're the right way up :) Other words that have different meanings outside the US: democrat, republican, Christian, socialist, conservative.
