You didn’t see it mentioned because once it was known, Kotaku decided to just update the old ‘outrage’ article with a tiny blurb at the end of it.

This needs more stars.  It’s relevant to the situation, but not relevant to the overall message Kotaku wants to send, so I doubt it gets addressed properly.

LOL this is hilarious.  “Taking on a more intense role”

Your story has better structure and pacing than this show’s.  You should be on the writing team!

Not quite, but nice try!

What a scam artist LOL

But then, in House of the Dragon’s most spectacular moment to date,”

I lost it, reading that in the review.  Your feedback is lost on those who will themselves into enjoying this show lol.

How many more lives could have been spared if she decided not to crush a bunch of innocent peasants and chose the front door instead?

Not to mention they introduce the ‘child fighting ring’ mere minutes before it’s considered a plot point.  Status quo for this show and its story progression.

Mercy? She murdered a bunch of innocent bystanders by crushing them to death with stone debris.  What an excellent character moment, yes yes.

Yeah, but a DRAGON BLEW THROUGH THE FLOOR DUDE EPICCCCCCCCC

Who needs character development, amirite?

Well here’s to hoping the second season is better than this one.  Woof.

You made my point far better than I could.  Nailed it!

silently acknowledging both the fact that he’s been a dick for his whole life and that Viserys is a relatively nice guy who doesn’t deserve to be visibly rotting to death”

Or using the act of ‘kindness’ to influence a *very* important decision Viserys makes seconds later....

You’re correct. That ~10 second interaction completely slipped my mind.

Damn, you nailed it!

They’re doing a pretty poor job at shoehorning in ‘The Prophecy’ as a plot point.

This. Man, I *love* expositions and character development. But we barely get any time with these characters before they’re killed off/recasted, and their overall story/goals are not interesting at all.

I realize GOT is a different show, but the difference in character development is incredibly striking.

Pretty much.
- Another character dies in literally the same episode we meet him in
- Another instance where they try shoehorning in “The Prophecy”.
- Overdrawn sequences that carry little/no weight

And here I was thinking this episode was incredibly underwhelming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
