I understand this interpretation of my words and I’m sorry for not being more careful. I meant it as a sarcastic quip about how successful Vietnam has been and is becoming in spite of American and other efforts over the years to intervene, and that we would probably be better off leaving people alone sometimes.

I’m sure they consider it Nguyen-Nguyen.

Food for thought: The LC500 is the real Mk5 Supra

I’m getting to the point of “I’ll believe it when I can actually see it.”

I think that was the point. It was Honda’s way of saying: this is our new fancy Luxury brand... but don’t worry, they’re really just gussied up Hondas, so it’s not like they’re going to bankrupt you on maintenance like a Mercedes.

No, a compass; the type for drawing circles, not the type that points north.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Sakichi Toyoda was making looming machines in Japan. By the 1930s, he started a company to manufacture automotive vehicles: “Toyoda,” aptly naming it after the family. The earliest vehicles produced by the Toyoda company featured this simple badge:

Toyota. My mind has pair associated this logo with boring:

I’d be happy with that font and a redesign of the 1936 Mazda logo.

I remember when the Acura logo was unveiled (I’m old) and it originally did NOT have the little bar connecting the calipers. The story I heard was that Soichiro Honda himself ordered the little bar to be added to make it look more like an H.

Chevy. They talk about how their Bowtie dates back to 1913. It does, but it’s been updated a bunch of times. Check this variation out from 1955. I like it a lot better than the boring gold one of today. I think it would work well today.  The current logo screams CHEAP compared to this one.

Agree, all that wasted space around the RAM logo, the letters could be at least 8 inches wider and 6 inches taller.

now that’s a well rounded design ;-)

It also symbolizes each of the letters in TOYOTA

not so much a logo makeover as much as a logo deployment makeover

Why should they? They own Jeep, and the vast majority of Chrysler/Dodge dealers sell Jeeps. Why does every one of their brands need a competing product? Or should Jeep also have coupes, sedans, and minivans? Should RAM have sedans (yes, I also think it is dumb that they made RAM out of Dodge). Seems SMART to me to not

Yeah if they can get decent options and 4WD at like $25k this is going to be a huge hit.

I think it looks like an elephant standing on a loading dock.

It’s a nice design for an app icon. Thats all I got.
