I read somewhere (and agree with) that her appeal is that she appears to be low-maintenance—that a date with her with a beer and hamburgers would go down just fine. It's probably fiction, but over so many years there's been no narrative to contradict that perception.

I have a hard time separating the person from the character he played in his one-episode role in the first season of NYPD Blue. That disdain carried over strongly in his character in Band of Brothers.
