OVH has real VPS nodes with 2-4 times the hardware at a fraction of the cost of everyone else. Their $14/month VPS SSD 3 blows everything else out of the water. Their cloud hosting starts at $35/mo with more hardware than anything else. Most sites won’t need more than the $14/month thing.

Blame Composer and the PSR’s it is based on. That nonsense created this mess and has a lot to answer for.
