Well, damn.
Well, damn.
Thank you to all of the gaming journalists who brought this story to light and created a discussion for this to happen. However you may feel on the outcome, I am sure the workers at Rockstar are appreciating the quality of life changes that all seem to be moving in a positive direction.
At the two video game studios I worked at, flex time was always in effect, and the studio had various on site testers that were full time.
This movie is hardly alone in the crowd of 80's comedies that include rape/sexual assault as a joke. The culture has shifted a lot in 40 years and there are precious few comedies from that era that don’t make me uncomfortable on a rewatch now. It’s really no wonder that so many Hollywood bigwigs are getting caught up…
Different take:. I hate passing the controller. I want the satisfaction of completing the hard part for myself.
Nacho Cheese is the superior flavor. It is the gold standard of flavored chips, it is abundant, direct, it has nuance but never betrays its original character, it is even a wonderful color. It does all this without even tasting that much like traditional nacho cheese, yet still being incredibly delicious and…
Well, when you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.
I’m beyond shaming. It’s too light at this point. They deserve to be outright obliterated. To have their jobs taken away. Have their money and property gone in an instant. To have their public personas ruined. For their sense of safety to be annihilated. I want them under such a horrific amount of light at all times…
I couldn’t disagree with this sentiment more. A major problem for games right now is that we have these immensely broad terms for incredibly different games. “JRPG” can mean anything from a Turn-Based Tactics game to an Action Adventure. What is the point of such a term when it means virtually nothing?
If prescriptivist ruled the world the entire English language would be updated and replaced every month for fear that someone might have the gall to use them.
Hey. I get it.
The vernacular is established, and will remain until people no longer find it useful. You’re fighting this fight about 15 years too late.
Imagine being “offended” because your game includes PoCs and women. That’s not what’s happening here. It’s not like this game is going for a serious tone or historical accuracy. Let’s not “both sides” this crap with false equivalences.
I only played BotW recently, and while I really enjoyed it, it did have a few issues that I felt kept it from hitting the instant-classic status everyone else gave it.
I’m not a fan of weapon breakage in games in general, but I absolutely DETEST the weapon degradation system in BotW. It makes total sense for basic…
I feel like the weapon breaking system was full on detrimental.
Might be on the bad side of this opinion but hopefully the sequel is a little more forgiving on the weapon/shield breaking stuff. I’m not saying get rid of it entirely but maybe have weapons/shields take a few more hits before breaking or have a way of repairing stuff.
It’s absolutely amazing to me that living in a world where there has never been greater access to knowledge and scientific research is making so many people even more stupid and less educated than they would be without that access.
While you are correct that rock is rock and doesn’t need separating out. This is clearly one in a series of different LGBTQ+ media lists that AV Club has been doing to celebrate Pride Month, and since that’s a theme, it does make sense to separate out the niche they’re examining for that reason.
My youngest kid and I are currently building an elaborate Minecraft island-spanning town. We also play Pokemon Go together. And we’ll play a lot of single player games concurrently, like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and discuss what we’re doing and what we think of it. It definitely brings us closer together and gives…
