Not sure if Gaines truly hated T.V. It's true, though, that Al Feldstein floated the idea of a show many times, but Bill wouldn't bite.

Of course, nothing, but that's not how it's being presented. They're trying to be as photo-realistic as possible (and inserting a real actor) and that's not the goal (imo) of animation.
