I don’t get the condescending tone from AV Club to The Shape of Water. Is it because Del Toro does not look like a stereotypical Mexican?

I’m dissapointed the lack of recognition to Del Toro’s achievement, being the third Mexican director who wins the Golden Globe, and now the Tercia with his friends Iñárritu and Cuarón is complete.
Exactly: he acted superbly as a very weird (but real) character. That’s the definition of good acting: he did well his assigned character. Wiseau himself is a very fascinating person, maybe not admirable, but very interesting.
Gee, the Americans are so obsessed with the celebrities! Does she has experience in government theory? About foreign policy? What about tax reform? It seems you think that doing business is the same thing as good governance?
I disagree, Franco was superb in The Disaster Artist. I think it will be remembered as a masterpiece like Burton’s Ed Wood.
Well, it seems you can’t read or are easily provoked by criticism: in my first comment I wrote clearly that I just enjoy the drama of the Star Wars detractors, defenders, and those like yours. So I’m not complaining, I´m amused by the short-sighness of the Americans.
No, it is fine to discuss about art, even the Seventh Art. However, this is not discussion or analysis, this is just multiple monologues shooting without direction or motive. They are just Bizantine debates.
As a person with mild interest in Star Wars (I like the original trilogy, but I’ve seen it maybe twice in all my life), it is amusing to watch all the drama for a piece of an “ok” media property. I’m still amazed by all the time wasted in “analizing” and debating about an almost 2-hour fantasy film.
Well, these are some good news.
So there is no pardon for any sexist offense? I do agree that sexism sucks and does a great damage to women, but following that logic any misbehavor should be punished equally, because all of them have origin in the same malicious intent.

Gracias ché. Aunque creo que todavía podría debatirse el uso de “todas y todos”, en lo demás estoy de acuerdo por completo. Nice chap.
Because she got my PIN and used my phone, were I have everything.
As always great and awesome advices. The thing is how to follow said advice. For example I just realize my GF keep stalking my phone, it seems she always put attention when I use my PIN. So while I’m in the shower or go quickly to the store, she checks my social accounts and my Google Drive (thanks to that I confirmed…
In Mexico even younger children are encouraged to eat chilli because it is something of an acquited taste, being hot. However most peppers are very nutritious and hot flavors are a foundation of many great cousines around the world. So thanks for spreading this delicacy. And stop whinning. In Mexico we laugh at the…
I loved this.
Oh, you are so witty! Anyway, the reporting of this fringe petitions is cheap. It was the same when just a couple of “controversial” tweets were featured as “People hate x thing and Twitter is storming”.
Working with babies IS a headache. Why is creepy using a more human solution where there is zero chance to hurt a very young and little human being?

Don’t worry about it, let’s play foot ball.
