Richard Lester’s 1976 “Robin and Marion” in which Connery plays opposite Audrey Hepburn as an aged Robin Hood who has lived past his time. The ending is heartbreaking. He’s also very good in the equally tragic and under appreciated “The Molly Maguires.”

I still remember when I heard sometime in 1988 that he was going to play Indiana Jones’ dad. I just laughed out loud in happiness.  It was just perfect. One of the greatest casting choices in movie history.

He tries very rarely nowadays, but Vin Diesel is actually a good actor - somewhat limited in range, but really charismatic and of course, skilled at using that gravel-in-a-cement-mixer voice.
