The fundamental point is that businesses don’t exist to create jobs, jobs are supposed to create business. If the jobs are not creating business, the jobs get cut. Your bosses did not hire you out of charity, they hired you because you can help them (and everyone else in the business) to make money.

This issue is a little bit more complicated than “executives bad, employees good”, which is what many people see this as.
