That was my take. Release a 3rd PS5 model that has PS1-4 support since I would be glad to pay a premium for that one.

I don’t think you’re getting it. PS5 is potentially using a new file format for saves. Think when Word went from .doc to .docx. The data in the file is completely different, and wasn’t backward compatible with older versions of Word, unless you installed an extension/update to interpret it.
