This is a problem for collectors and not gamers. You can still play everything that’s available on this hardware through other means. You can buy digital versions of Limited Run Games. The actual game part is not impacted.

Limited Run have at least switched to an entirely pre-order system at this point. So if you want a game that they’re releasing you have 6-ish weeks to preorder, and they’ll produce enough copies to meet demand. They also have the deal with Best Buy as well, so some of the Limited Run games are making it to retail…

At least with LimitedRun, for non-CE games, they’ve been doing four-week pre-orders for most all titles now, so as long as you’re not after the fancy extras it’s pretty easy to get games from them. The earlier releases though, that could be a struggle.
