I would add to Eledonkeyfunk’s list the DanganRonpa series, Virtue’s Last Reward (still, play 999 on the DS before), Steins;Gate, Corpse Party: Blood Drive, Muramasa Rebirth, Gravity Rush (if you don’t have a PS4), plus a few more that I can’t think of, at the moment.

Thanks. I know only too well our problem: when I was a kid, I used to read about games in magazines, and then I would wait for the games to be released, and it seemed to take forever.

OK, dont do what I did. I was getting close to the ending of Suikoden when I realised that I failed to recruit one of the “stars of destiny” (the recruitable characters that join your castle and help you in the quests). Next thing I know, I fiddle with my saves and, bam, I erase them all...

A team from the Italian gaming website geekgamer.it made an interview of the series creator and the character designer, translated in the video below.

Please, don’t remind me of the Shadow Hearts series. It deserves a rerelease so much that it hurts...

“on my nerves for the first chapters” d’oh!

And then you reach the point when everything you took for granted is turned on its head, and boy is it brilliant!

Thanks for making us discover such artists, Bashcraft. Starts like your standard melancholic pop fare, enters a shoegaze guitar-led vibe, and moments later it turns into something prog-rockish. Wow! After importing Oeil’s CDs, it looks like I’ve got to check Japanese record shops again! Thanks!

Don’t worry, Kabosu. To me, you’re still beautiful.

Fully agreed. If Doug really wanted to stand out of the crowd, the giraffe was the way to go... And there was some money left to buy the compulsory convertible anyway, just because... giraffe!

Yay! András made my day, and now you just saved it! Thanks!

When the missus discovers it, I’ll put the blame on you, András! You’d better be prepared...

At first, I thought it was a cartoon triceratops. A triceratops that jumps. Is anything cooler than that?

Correction: ‘Machida-san’. D’oh!

Nice, thanks for the anime recommendation: I won’t have to think twice! As for the dubbing, I have to hope that it’s just as good in French! ;)

It’s true that the visual novel requires an awful lot of time, but the different endings are well worth it, for they are absolutely gripping. If you’re just curious, I’m pretty sure that you can find playthroughs on youtube, so you don’t have to go through the full VN (I can’t believe that I’m writing that!). But good

I’m so glad that you mention Steins;Gate, Jason. It seldom gets a mention, when looking back on 2015, no matter what website/blog you check, even though it’s certainly what I’ll remember from 2015, gaming-wise. I just hope that thanks to your top 10, more fellow Kotakuites will get curious about it: sure, it starts

When I mentioned Shadow Hearts, I had the series in mind, rather than the first game (if you don’t count Koudelka that I hadn’t the chance to play), maybe it wasn’t clear. But you sure are allowed to criticize the whole series! I agree that the jokes are not always subtle, but they are never mean-spirited, and they
