"But clearly there’s a question here of whether it’s possible to be named Omar Little in Baltimore and not feel some sort of obligation to live up to it. You know, just like how The Wire forced the whole city to start having drug problems and homicides."
hahahahaha oh wow.

Could you imagine if they reviewed Gurren Lagann?
(Another show seemingly built from the mind of The Todd from Scrubs)

Let your sexual innuendos flow free with FLCL.
This show was made for The Todd.

Hahaha too late!
The captain must go down with the ship-o-meter.
It's been an honor @avclub-d89b833158f0d9a73fd33bb243fe5786:disqus
(Just build a new ship-o-meter for the next episode haha!)

FLCL will be the first show to break the Ship-O-Meter.

"As he readies himself to break her heart in a terrible way, he is
literally knocked off of his feet by Haruko, who can only be described
in terms that are utterly ridiculous: she is a sexy pink-haired,
green-eyed alien riding a vintage Vespa and wielding an souped-up
left-handed Rickenbacker 4001 bass."

For people having trouble finding the dub, I recommend dubhappy.com

"Furi Kuri" in Japan, is like the "baseball" metaphor for sex here in the United States. Furi Kuri would be like second or third base. There's really no phrase for it in english haha, so think of it that way.

You gotta swing the bat!

In that case, EPISODE 1 commentary by series director Kazuya Tsurumaki.
If you haven't seen the first episode, it's got spoilers and it's not for you. If you want to rip apart avclub reviews, or other people's opinions with what Tsurumaki says in the commentary, I'd say it's also not for you….JERK! Remaining people,

FLCL, or Fooly Cooly, or Furi Kuri (which is what it sounds like in Japanese) doesn't really translate to English. It's a running joke in the series that not even the protagonist knows what FLCL means.

FOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY
COOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Spike accepting the inevitability of his own death? Hmmmmmmm, wait until next week's humorless creepfest, "PIERROT LE FOU". (Spike seemed pretty concerned about dying that episode.)

"We'll pay the parking ticket! I promise!"
Seems like the decoy (actual) freight container folks don't pay what they owe EITHER.
LUNKHEADS! LUNKHEADS!

Otto mann empire! (You're awesome, that name is sweet.)
I watched the episode again last night, and they do (in the Cowboy Bebop Remix version of the dub) refer to it as beta!

Community on HBO would be interesting.
I'd love a Dr Paul session with each of these characters.

Lunkheads! Lunkheaaaaaadsssss!

I'd love it if they covered SC one day. I can imagine Simon Abrams spending most of the articles talking about what Hanzo "The Saw" says.

This is that time in the Avatar Series where shipping dies down. (I meant who wants to ship at a time like this in the series?) So I guess best option is to ramp up all the commenters with the hormones of FLCL.
