Id be willing to bet it's mostly run by her parents/management

Lots of parents. When you’re weighing keeping your kid off SM with them missing a big part of socialization it becomes a tough choice.

Being hopeful here but maybe her parents actually run the Twitter account?

I mean, is that tweet really worse or materially different than Brit’s?

mad thirst in that one

My girl was robbed for Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Oh, Paris Hilton. Puh-leeze.

Quvenzhane’ Wallis is in 8th grade?!? When did that happen?

I literally have no male friends left from my college days... and I don’t miss any of them. Life is so much better now not having to read SOME bullshit BS sermon every day about ‘restorative justice’ for unapologetic rapists and murderers of black women while they scream that we should serve as canon fodder in their

Parker was acquitted, but his friend was convicted (all stemming from the same offense).

Remember this was in court 17 years ago. Think about how courts treat rape cases now, and then back that up 17 years. They convicted his roommate but not him. So on the surface it sounds like “Well, she had oral with him the night before so she would have consented. But she didn’t with the roommate, so he’s guilty.” 2

Parker was only found not guilty because the victim admitted that they had consensual sex THE DAY BEFORE.

The thing is I know it isn’t even unusual. That men get away with so much shit they do to women. I fucking hate it.

Yes, agreed, but I mean for spin purposes and to turn the conversation to his use as he promotes the movie. Honestly, I doubt any man who at any time thought it was ok to gang rape an unconscious women because her drunk, slutty self deserved it will ever think otherwise, no matter how “woke” he is on other topics.

Well, for me it was the testimony of the third man in the apartment that night, Kangas. I could hardly get through the trial transcript. He testified that the victim wasn’t moving and didn’t have her eyes open while his friends were “having sex” with her. Kangas watches for awhile (after Parker waves him in to observe)

Simplest answer is usually the best: probably because he hasn’t spent 17 years re-evaluating his actions and coming to more enlightened conclusions about consent. He thinks what happened *to him* was bad — that the accusation and trial and appeal were horrible times in his life — but still doesn’t think they did

This was an oversimplified comment, but I am really angry today about the mutilated Kenyan woman and I struggle with this issue in my own work—how to/whether to separate the art from the artist. But looking through the comments and seeing the details of how brutalized Parker’s victim was makes me really, really,

He keeps reiterating that he was cleared of all charges but he doesn’t ever say he didn’t do it. His non-denial denial is excruciating.

Why is there so much couching and hedging but when, say, an actress decides to work with Woody Allen, she is unambiguously criticized?
