Is it common knowledge in Kings Landing that Cersei was behind blowing up the Sept? I feel like most infer she had something to do with it (which works to her advantage because people will fear her) but it’s still more rumor than official knowledge. And for good reason...the threat of a similar act was basically what

To be fair, I could see why moving a lot of your forces south by boat would be preferable to marching them some 400 miles, especially coming off a taxing battle and then expecting those forces to have to lay siege to Kings Landing.

It’s a fun theory, but also doesn’t make much sense. Unless Varys has been lying for basically the entire show, and in fact has no interest in seeing a non-maniac on the Iron Throne, it would be hard to figure why he would help Cersei/Euron.

I know it’s en vogue to criticize the writing on this show (many times in very petty or unfair ways) BUT to your point, I feel like they could’ve used a time jump. Toss up a “Six Months Later” card or something. Going straight from apocalyptic battle to clean up to celebratory feast to, “okay, now let’s go deal with

The Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers had every right to give us a sloppy, disappointing Game 4.

It was fun to see how your initial point got stuffed, you then said you knew that all along, and then pivoted to conspiracy theory. Well argued!

Do they rock? Absolutely not. But that’s a pretty weird basis of assessment. I’m not sure anyone has said, “toss on something that rocks, like some Vampire Weekend or something.”

You can’t rule out that many were conceived after a date night involving a Will Smith movie. The timing checks out on all fronts.

I want to believe. Yet I have trouble shaking the idea the Clippers wins were mostly a product of the Warriors still being in, “We Don’t Really Have to Rev This Up” Mode. I imagine in the conference finals they’ll go into full on “Well, Time to Win A Title” Mode and that will be that.

The whole idea of Capital One getting into the brick and mortar banking game is confusing as hell to me. We live in a time where the need to go to a bank is diminishing. I hit an ATM maybe three or four times a year (mostly because my barbershop only takes cash). I can do most all transfers through an app in seriously

You and I both, except I’ve slowly walked it forward to 9:15 p.m. and may go to 9:00 p.m. I think giving people 15 hours to get in touch and get a quick reply (6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.) is perfectly reasonable.

Okay, thank you. I read that blurb and definitely wondered how the referral to treatment/therapy was different than the first things mentioned and dismissed as basically ineffective.

Name one character not located at or north of The Wall who made it a mission to do anything about the White Walkers before Season 7. The White Walkers are possibly the best red herring ever created. They mattered only as long as needed to develop Jon. Now that we know his standing in the core story, they aren’t really

It hasn’t. There is ONE primary character that has been involved with the White Walkers throughout the vast run of the show: Jon Snow. Seriously, no other primary character has given a shit about them until Season 7. And what has been the most important reveal about Jon Snow? He actually has a pretty decent claim to

Did they cut a corner though? Narratively, look at Jon Snow’s storyline. It’s wholly dependent on the White Walkers. Name one other primary character whose arc you can say that about. We’ve all embraced the conflict with the dead as the core conflict in the story. Doesn’t mean we were right.

To your last point, the more I think about it, wasn’t it kind of a case of, “if not now, when?” The characters have learned about as much as they could about the White Walkers and Night King. You can kill them with dragon glass. So they mined a bunch of dragon glass and equipped an army with weapons made from it. You

Posted this elsewhere, but how much do we really need to critique battlefield tactics here? There is no plan that wins a battle where the enemy is a) zombies and b) can reanimate every person that gets killed and add them to its ranks. When the Army of the Dead charged, they did a good job of showing how absolutely

The Dothraki charge was tactically debatable, but was a pretty damn cool scene. It also served the purpose of showing the inevitability of it all. There really is no plan to win a battle in which you’re a) vastly outnumbered, and b) every soldier you lose becomes a soldier for the enemy.

I still want to know why all the spirals?

To the prophetic point: I kind read Melisandre’s demise not so much as her work being done, but the ultimate recognition that her religion, while providing supernatural powers, was total bullshit in terms of overall prophecy.
