I guess it's hard for people of a certain age to shake off those old ways. I can understand that to an extent, but like Paula, they have to understand that the world is a different place than it used to be and there comes a point when you have to change.
Thankfully, it doesn't happen as often as it did, but it's terrible that she (and you) should have to put up with that.
That is horrific! It's hard to believe that people are still so backwards.
It's horrible, but your story made me laugh out loud. I have this very conversation with co-workers and family members nearly once a week or so.
Glad to help, HerBlueEyz. :-)
As a gay man living in the "South", the kind of persistent, sneaky racism she practices really gripes the hell out of me. I work with a fairly integrated group of people and I am still amazed at the number of times a day that I hear statements from my coworkers like, "I was driving down the road and this black man..."…
It's actually Zach Woods. He played Gabe on The Office near the end of its run.
