100% agree. I actually sort of love Chrome OS - I have a CR48 in storage.

Well, yeah, but I want a device that will be able to run (at least!) Linux applications. Otherwise, why should I purchase a $1300 system? I could just purchase a $250 Chromebook!

How the hell do these people make those "drawing" videos?

The Samsung Chromebook can also do 1080p video IIRC

Gabe Newell sold it!

I don't think your toddler needs his own tablet, anyway. Especially one that's $170.

Obviously, I'm just looking at the issue from the ignorant teenager perspective.

Make it cheaper and I'll buy it.

The only thing its really missing is storage - I would totally use a Chromebook Pixel with Ubuntu and 128 gigs of SSD.

Having a Chromebook-esque windowed interface + Dalvik running in windows would be pretty freaking awesome.

>has been taking a beating

I usually tend to recommend getting a more expensive GPU than CPU, but I'm focusing on gaming.

I'm not so sure. I believe most of them have to have all of their devices in a fleet. Maybe a teacher will be able to use it, but otherwise I doubt most would be able to accept one.

Its hilarious, the iPhone 4 is $450 on contract, while the Nexus 4 is $350 on contract for a much, much better device. They're eating a massive profit margin on a two year old device.

And honestly, its a pretty decent one. Although I will say it has gotten bloated over the last three years.

Didn't they just release the Butterfly?

I know, its just that somehow people don't realize this.

Slightly unrelated - a guy on Reddit educated me about the '94 assault weapon ban. I realized that it wasn't very effectual, not because it covered too much, but rather because it covered all of the wrong stuff.

To be pedantic, guns do kill people. People also kill people. Video games can't kill anything.

Its certainly good enough for "dumb tasks", like writing short papers and Slideshows. Which is what most people around me use MS Office for.
