ForScience: Technically Within Spec is Best Kind of In Spec

I'm solely a mountain biker, but I like cars. It is possible to enjoy more than one type of hobby, you know.

That speed on a bike is somewhat nerve-rattling, but assuming no sudden patches of sand, water or wobble-of-death, also very exhilarating. I would use bigger rotors on those brakes, though.

Back in the day, many of the auto magnates (notably the Fords) collected art, with many of them loaning their pieces to a public trust so that all could enjoy them. Many also donated funds for the museum to purchase it's own pieces for display. I don't think we would see such altruism out of today's <i>nouveau

It's a big company, though I will note the little bits I've been privy to working at one of their suppliers and having a relative in a totally different area surprises me with split difference is attitude and culture.

I've not heard that term before, but it fits many cases of buying more car/truck than one needs. I can sort of justify mine because A) I need to haul lots of things/people fairly often and B) it was a hand-me-down.

Among layperson carbuyers there's an ingrained misconception about the utility and safety in regards to vehicle size, not to mention the 'prestige' that comes with driving truck shaped objects like crossovers.

I'm not a VW fan, but that seems like a wanton waste of parts.

It's 'cause you get all of the posting of stupid shit online, with the added bonus of potential real-life consequences!

A truly novel opinion: I like both.

My point is that this is one of Murilee Martin's old pieces. If you've been here as long as you say you have, I'm sure you would have recognized that (psst, look at the date on top). If you don't like the occasional long-form piece that's fine. I have my own grouses about this site and I'm sure that we might even

You must be new here.

I understand, and I don't suppose I can blame them (I'm probably just missing ye old storytime with Murilee Martin days), but it just seemed too easy to sub to a couple auto-related reddits (justrolledintotheshop, etc.), grab the top posts and link it here. I'm just being pedantic, aren't I?

Ha, no I'm not a 'le redditor', it's just a trend that irks me for some reason.

Those gumwalls work really well in that scheme.

Oh hey look, a post that isn't something off reddit.

You don't like thing. Good job not liking thing.

Exactly. They're cars, not gorram portfolios.
