As I learned this year - check with your insurance agent on your rates every year, particularly auto coverage. You may be due an adjustment due to depreciation.

On my take-home-from-work laptop, I run portable apps out of a Truecrypt volume. My Firefox and Thunderbird data are in the encrypted volume. @lazymoomin: The choice is, I think, less important if you're handing in physical copies. It's more important if your school is intent on saving trees.
