Last time I checked, you can run it in Small Mode which is literally nothing but your list of games.

Just so you know, that's part of the tutorial. You do a one lap race and then you go retrieve and then deliver a package to a mission contact before you're given free reign.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend powering through any of that if you don't have a solid group of people to play with.
