It’s the site of the world trade center. hence the name “world trade center transit hub”. If you actually visit this place, you will see that it is much more than a train station, but a memorial place for 9/11

I agree with you 100%. I don’t blame the architect at all, never did, in fact I commend him for getting to where he is and being able to extract such a high fee. I blame the city for their excessive spending, which is the entire basis for this conversation (skylights and all).
Actually, it is incredibly excessive. The fact that it is 8/10 of a percent of the budget means absolutely nothing if the budget itself is ridiculously excessive as well. If you are trying to defend the spending choices here, may I remind you that this architect, alone, got 80 million?

I agree. What’s additionally frustrating for me is that we used a Spanish architect and Austrian parts to build one of our most patriotic monuments. I know we live in a global economy, but the WTC station is symbolic...are there no American architects left who can design better? No American factories that can crank…
