Why? Some weapons already come with safety pins that must be depressed in order to fire a gun. After you learn how to use it, it’s not hard at all.

Lol, I guess Bernie supporters aren’t too bright...
If I was a manufacturer of smart guns, I’d scrap any sort of electronic components that are designed to assign ownership to one person, because if someone steals my gun and got away with it, now they have essentially unlimited time to bypass that electronic component. That’s a hard thing to overcome as a manufacturer.
At this point, Gizmodo is an unhealthy addiction that I am ashamed of and disgusted with every time I visit. If I could only wipe this site from my mind...
Exactly. This never-ending line put out by Bernie supporters of the rich corporations sucking us dry has permeated all consumer transactions. It’s really a slippery slope when you get into the relativity of someone being “too greedy”.
I think her point was that we should ban cars
See my reply above. In shorter words, a lack of proprioceptive feedback is not the same as “cracking or hissing” of a recording.
Lol, before all of the snarky comments come in (thanks “theburners”) I should have mentioned I work in this field.

Excellent counterpoint
While I understand the broad conclusions made in this article, I can’t help but find this entire article extremely distasteful.
Do you always resort to name calling just prior to exiting conversations?
obviously not the same planet where people like you and the writer expect zero push-back for a wide-reaching, poorly researched, and very expensive plan that affects people’s personally private property?
I realize I probably have to spell it out for you. Just because you have one idea to prevent a disaster, doesn’t mean that idea was properly researched or is the best one to implement. If that were the case, these people would not be complaining, obviously.
Look, I’m not saying to necessarily kick the can. I’m just saying, it’s not as cut and dry as all of you guys think it is. You don’t give the people who live there enough credit. Remember, these people, of all people, should fear another storm after having lived through the devastation once already. You think they…
Sure, maybe it’ll be 300 years from now. If there’s a .01% chance of something happening in your lifetime, do you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to prevent that?
