Kinda scary, right?

So stretchy. So bald.

There are more than 20 million veterans and about 40,000 homeless veterans at any given time, or about 0.2% of the veteran population. There are about 550,000 total homeless people on any given night, so the probability of a veteran being homeless is only slightly higher than the overall homelessness rate in the US.

if(bindMouse){controls = mouseControls;}

Haha oh I know, I’m a developer myself (not in games, thank goodness) and there are so many people who think that logically explaining something in vague terms is about as much work as programming it in.

add.mouse {
enable.binding;
}

I assume the “couple of lines of code” is in reference solely to the mouse hooks for the game to recognize mouse input. Actually doing anything with that is a different story and probably a lot more work, especially considering the UI and menu.

He forgot one of the key purchases: the 55 gallon drum of lube so you can get good and greased up. Can’t arrest what you can’t grab.

Seems like a lot of effort to go through to get arrested.

There should be some sort of error thrown if a specific file isn’t being loaded, though, like a try/catch. This is just shoddy coding.

Internal tooling? How about basic IDE functionality?

As soon as the game starts up and every time an enemy should hit that class, an error should be showing up in a log somewhere. You’d have to specifically turn that kind of thing off in most environments I’ve worked in...

Heck, you should be able to identify a missing

I am somewhat surprised though that loading bogus settings doesn’t in the very least print a warning.

Whoa!

Right, and in this case you would look for errors in the logs that either say function with a null variable or calling a undefined function.

I know. I’m not defending it. I’m saying that clearly they were not doing any automated checking on that .ini file, because if they had been, they’d have caught the error.

Can someone explain why this wasn’t found and patched day one? Seems like they knew enemy ai was a problem..

Just another reason STEM needs to become STEAM.

Whats the over under that the code is just full of errors like that

This is why Code Reviews are a thing.

Playtable. It’s small for boardgames. Licensed games with animations. but I’m sure some enterprising nerdgineer could modify it :)
