I recently turned down a promotion because they weren’t going to pay me enough. It sucks because the small pay bump would have been nice, but I’m fortunate enough to be in a position where I don’t need it and this was an important stand to make.

Yeah, I’ve said elsewhere, but I’ve had personal experience with this. Some deeply unfair compensations were being made and talking about our salaries amongst ourselves was the only way it changed.
