I disqualified Camaros and Firebirds, because people expect those to be fast.

Because that’s not a classic ferrous beast, that’s a Rambler.

Effort level: office hours.

I really was looking for an AMC eagle, and an LS, but prices got stupid quick.

Add an intercooler, smaller pulley and a down pipe and still be under 5k

Can’t get any sleepier than this in grandpa’s Buick. Comes with bench seat, column shifter and a supercharged V6 that will smoke modern sports cars with some minor mods.

Saab Story

I have an E39 and maintenance and repairs daily.

“It’s also a BMW, so people will assume it’s broken down.”

e39 owner here. They would assume correctly.

Manual 4.4 black 540i

The irony here is that people actually try to figure out how to put that wheel on a Neon (sorry, SRT-4). I actually use this wheel on a daily basis with my 04 Viper. It’s actually a really nice wheel in your hands with a carbon-fiber-esque leather on the top and bottom and nice palm bolsters at 10 and 2. Maybe a tad

At the very least, they should have colored the BMW logo.

What the actual fuck?

Pretty much anything with an early-era airbag in it. No one figured out how to make them smaller until years later.

E36 M3 steering wheels are just plain unsightly.

Ugh, it’s ugly AND it doesn’t match anything else in the interior. I think you win.

Porsche 964. That steering wheel is a crime

I’d wager the C5 was worse. My father had one in Z06 form. Firmly rooted in the era before GM figured out how to make an interior, the steering wheel there was atrocious.

Is always the answer, right?

It’s pretty comfy, but very ugly.

She hated automatics so she taught me to drive in a manual, so that was a great contribution.
