Wouldn't that come down on MAF swaps too? I know I had to do one on my Probe

It is THAT bad. Emission controls entail far more than just a catalytic converter. Having your car dyno tuned could be enough to go against the law, and getting a tune is a necessary part of even mild builds.

They aren’t going test everyone’s set up. They’ll mandate everyone’s set up be tested and certified. That means race cars will be limited to what those with the budgets to certify them decide to sell. High development cost and low volume means it will get very expensive.

So this is what’s gonna kill this glorious age of performance PETROL cars we live in.

Because laws are outdated and not in antway linked to the real world. But do you remember pollution in the 70's in the US? What reduced that drastically down to today’s level? Yes, government regulations...

As is it’s illegal to remove your catalytic converter, therefore bro-dozers are in fact illegal. But of course, who’s gonna enforce it?

That’s already banned, just not enforced.

You guys pay higher taxes based on engine displacement (many years ago) or CO2 output (today). No such thing in America.

I feel like this is the end result of all the criminals bypassing the emissions control devices in their exhausts on passenger cars. You wouldn’t believe how many people joke online about removing catalytic converters and signing paperwork from their shop about the vehicle only being used on a track or off road. Now

Please even we are not that stupid. Yes we have emissions tests and mot tests in the UK but were still pretty lax even compared to SMOG in California we can get away with a lot more than that in the UK.

This reads like it’s the EPA trying to kill aftermarket tuners, and their “but it’s for competition use only, it’s not our fault that our tunes get used on the street” excuse for installing defeat devices.

Big Brother is watching you live your life a quarter mile at a time.

The way Gullwing prices most of their cars is where you would see the high end of the market regardless of condition. They have to know these will sell for half the asking... Beverly Hills Car Club is very similar.

No, you can’t. You might be able to find a 400 or a 400i for that price, but not a 365 GT4 2+2.

Last tune up for my 412 came in at £14,500 in 2001. I sold it a year later and still miss it.

Do you have a link? I’d like to check their comments out.

Where is anything in this engine bay

I’d rather have this ‘83 400i from the same dealership for only $28.5k. I don’t know how much a manual swap and a tune up costs but it’s certainly less than than the $30k price difference. Not to mention this needs way less work.

Is that because they are shady?

Or just that they don’t deal exclusively in concourse-style number matched builds?

If the commenters on Bring A Trailer are anything to believe, Gullwing should be avoided at all costs.
