I tapped out at “Beverly Hills,” and I feel no regret. I’m sure that Weezer has written some good songs in that time, but I’m also certain they’ve written plenty of junk. There are so many better, lesser known bands that write poppier rock music for when I want to listen to that sort of thing.

In all seriousness, though, this kind of thinking is what caused Chrysler/GM to suddenly have no appealing, affordable or desirable cars when the bottom fell out of the economy or when gas prices rose - so they had to go hat-in-hand to the government for a bailout.

I’d undoubtedly prefer whatever Conan’s Tonight Show would’ve become by 2021 to Jimmy Fallon’s Celebrity Rictus Hour or Steven Colbert’s shitty Keith Olbermann/Bill Maher impression, but it always seemed like 11:30 on national television was going to be unkind to Conan ratings-wise.
I know he’s not really going anywhere since he still has his podcast and a new weekly show, but this still makes me immensely sad. I’m gonna miss clicking over every night to see what’s up on Conan.
