Social media is basically the id of the human race. It can be incredibly ugly and I don’t blame them for quitting at all.

Okay, I’ve seen this dude about a zillion times but I have no idea who he is and what the deal is with his hair.  Explanations please!

I don’t like the way he says “temporal.”  There, I said it.

44. Still cart surf.

Both my son and my niece lived and breathed Peppa during their preschool days, to the point that they started saying certain words with a distinct English accent. In fact, my son ask how many pounds something cost. We live in America.

I honestly don’t have a problem with this remote. It’s not symmetrical, it’s almost symmetrical. The position of the volume button is a dead giveaway as to which end is up.

(For the record, I am not one of those “pro-Marvel, anti-DC” guys. Batman and Superman are two of my all-time favorite comic characters.)

Anime had been a part of the popular consciousness in America for longer that that- half a century by my estimate. In the 60s, there was Astro Boy and Speed Racer (also made into a feature film). In the 70s, it was Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets. In the 80s, it was Robotech and Voltron. These weren’t niche

Are they up-scaling this? After all, the bulk of it was shot on 1970s-quality video, so they have to do quite a bit of work to improve the quality. Otherwise, there’s really no point. Might as well stick with the DVDs.

Not sure. I don’t remember Elvira being involved, but I could just be forgetting that part. Speaking of MST3K, I stumbled across another 3D movie that I saw as a kid that would be perfect for it: Treasure of the Four Crowns. Ridiculous Raiders ripoff.

There was a 1961 horror movie called The Mask (not the Jim Carrey one) about a demonic skull mask that possesses people and drives them mad. It was in 3D, and they were showin it on TV when I was a kid. You could pick up the glasses at participating 7-Elevens.

To be honest, I’m not really interested in what was explained in the comics. The truth is that the SW Universe outside of the movies (be it the EU or whatever) has often sought to explain away these odd little nuggets that Lucas put in his scripts. The Kessel Run for example. When Lucas used “parsecs” incorrectly,

You’ve clearly never met anyone who’s died of lung cancer. I have and I can tell you those things are deadly as hell.

Well, nicotine is extraordinarily addictive, and if it weren’t such a huge industry, it might very well be illegal. The real difference between it and other “hard drugs” is that it tends to kill you slowly, whereas something like Crack can do it much quicker. The effects of nicotine are subtle, as well as deadly.

What about “Death Sticks”? Was that supposed to be a spacey form of cigarette? There was also “cigarra tabac” from EU, which was at least in keeping with the Star Wars aesthetic, but “death sticks?”

Yes, other presidents have borrowed art from various museums over the years, but in this case they were unable to loan the painting requested. If you had bothered to read the museum’s response, you would see that this particular collection, which is not actually owned by the Guggenheim, prohibits it from traveling

Is that 400,000 pounds on Earth, or on the Moon? Pounds are measurements of weight and not mass, so gravity is a factor.

Now playing

Yeah, Danny. I hate it when they scrap classic superhero themes.

No Return of the Jedi?
