Here's what I don't understand- The collusion between Apple and the publishers set the price of iBooks at something like $12.99 as opposed to $9.99 on Kindle, right? The argument is that doing this forced Amazon and Barnes and Noble to jack up their prices, right?

I had that one. It was awesome.

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

Now, now. Let's not forget the contribution of the Anarchist's Cookbook's towards radical finger loss and sudden blindness.

Sounds like a You-Don't-Know-Jack-host-wannabe.

I always thought that if they filmed WWZ, they should have made it a miniseries- each episode could be from the perspective of someone new- just like in the novel.

The one thing they don't show on the infrared camera is fire. I would be curious to know how it handles extreme heat.

I think the point is to make telepresence less robotic (for lack of a better term) and more human. A person who only shows up on conference room screens feels less like a member of the team or conversation than a mobile screen that can, say, go to your desk to talk to you or follow you down the hall.

Later this year? Everyone wants to know 2 things: When and how much. Nice to see someone at Microsoft is innovating, though.

Everything on our planet was created in the heart of stars which exploded. We, and everything we have ever seen and touched are all stardust. This includes blood.

For me, one of the reasons that this film still stands the test of time, rather than being lost amongst the legions of CGI blockbusters that have come in its wake is that Spielberg didn't trust CGI (at the time). So, when the T-rex is destroying the jeep with the kids inside, that's a giant animatronic T-rex

Personally, I prefer the ROKU app to the remote. It gives you more control over the device, plus you don't have to do that hunt-and-peck typing when using a search function. Plus, I always know where my phone is. I can never find the damn remote.

I like the cover. Don't panic. It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anyone's said to me all day.

Extended warranties are only useful if you have something that is likely to break or be damaged in normal usage. It all comes down to how you use it. A desktop computer that sits on your desk 24/7 is not likely to need replacement within it's normal lifespan.

Well, most tablets (at least the larger tablets like iPad), often don't need a mobile version. I'm not sure about iPad minis (and their ilk) though, as I don't own one. I think if the WSJ looked like crap on a phone, then there'd be room to gripe, but I feel like if they decided that the full site was good enough

Good point.

Why does anyone need a watch anymore? Other than fashion, that is. Damn near everything I own with the slightest pulse of electricity in it tells the time. Not just my phone, tablet and computer, but my everything. The TV, the cable box, the microwave, the stove, the fridge, my car, the radio, my camera. About

Actually, I don't see it as an indictment of Catholics or Christianity. Instead, he's showing us examples of people exhibiting rather shallow sacrifices for their faith. The point he's trying to make is that these people might not actually "believe in something higher than humanistic world views", rather they are
