Maybe you should read some of the comments in this thread, because you will see me repeatedly state that Disney was well withing their rights to end their partnership with PDP. My comment was all the yellow-journalism and knee-jerk reactions happening to Jontron and Pewdiepie (calling them racists and nazi among other

Trump by no means won the popular vote. How trump cant understand that fact is beyond me. He won the electoral vote (and he should be damn happy he did and stop whining like a little bitch) which is what actually mattered. If hillary hadnt sat on her ass and assumed she had all the votes she needed and actually

I did say ‘give or take’ for the generations, which is roughly 30 years. A good number of people who visit kotaku tend to be younger than 29. So 50 years is on the back end of 2 generations. I hope your marriage will be long lasting and full of happiness. Sure as hell aint enough of that going around.

“Kill the jews” without any context certainly sounds like someone is trying to do something violent. But if you actually look at the context of the situation, PDP paid money of Fiverr to see if someone was going to do a stupid stunt he was trying to do for entertainment. While not expecting anyone would actually do

Agreed, but its the squeeky wheel that gets the grease and the attention while everyone else is just trying to do their job.

Now playing

This guy puts it in a far more entertaining way that I can do, but shit like ‘resolutions for white people’ is a pretty recent example.

Dont forget, the person who said pepe is a racist meme is also white. Looks like you just cant seem to escape white people, can you?

censoring and censorship are similar but different things. to censor is on a small scale, censorship is large scale. We can be pedantic about it but I will admit you got me on that. I was talking about using it to control behavior, and its come about to trying to control speech. Probably could have worded it better

Yep. He has the freedom to say stupid shit. And people have the freedom to call him out for doing stupid shit. But calling him racist (when its far from the case) or trying to push a narrative that he is a part of a white supremacist movement is horseshit and yellow journalism.

Never claimed to be a comedian, much less a good one. I have a sardonic sense of humor that tends to fall flat, so I try not to avoid it.

Jontron not so much, because he was just discussing his political thoughts on certain issues. Pewdiepie on the other hand went out of his way to pay a couple guys to record a video of them showing a message he had written. Granted in the context of trying to do something controversial (and whats more controversial

I never said the word censorship. Nor do I think the situation with pewdiepie is censorship. pewdiepie did something stupid and is facing the repercussions of his actions, but in no way is this censorship.

If he tries, we have a system of checks and balances to fight overreach in the different branches of government. And you can be damn sure americans will fight for the right to freely speak. And if things go to shit, the americans have the second amendment that they will happily use to fight for their first amendment.

By claiming shit left and right is ‘offensive’ and demanding people curb their language to fit your sensibilities is thought police shenanigans. You want to tell people what words they can and cannot use so you dont get offended or triggered.

You arent doing anything to make racists afraid, your just making it easier to trigger yourselves. Like claiming a cartoon frog is a dog-whistle for white supremacist (pro tip, its not).

A) he can say any stupid shit he wants, freedom of speech doesnt protect you from criticism or push back for saying such things. And while he isn’t is america and doesnt have the first amendment (I dont know enough about denmark to comment on their speech laws, but I am aware of multiple european countries actually

There is a difference between inequality of situation, and inequality from oppression. Hate to break it to you, but the US isn’t an apartheid state. The US is less than 50% white, and not as homogeneous as you would like to think.

I try to add more to the conversation to those that are willing to have a conversation. As this thread can attest to, I am usually responded to with ‘bigot/racist/etc’. I dont ask for people to agree with me, I only ask them to have a discourse with me. Dont like what I have to say, thats fine, but at least be civil.

The video I linked gets into better detail about a lot of the media bs thats been going on (while I was never a fan of his, but I do respect the charity work he does). While I dont have a sub to the WSJ, so I have to use a screencap of another video to show you this:
