This is one of the “don’t hate the player, hate the game” things. If McCurdy had been in the same fortunate position as Grande, would she really have generously turned down opportunities to help her costar out? Yeah, I doubt it.

I watched the cast of Sex and the City have sex with their bras on for a zillion years, I can let this one pass.
I don’t know anything about Schneider but if a manager was giving teenaged/younger employees backrubs that would definitely be a sign of potential sexual abuse regardless of his appearance (and people who believe abusers are all unattractive and overweight are sadly mistaken btw). Within the last 10 years if not…
Kansas is a closed primary state that only allows you to vote for a candidate if you are registered for that party. Approximately 30% of Kansas voters are independent/unaffiliated, and it’s thus not surprising that around 20% of those who voted on the referendum did not vote for a candidate.
Ballot measures can absolutely be helpful, they are just not going to be enough. Making reproductive choice a central issue when voting for candidates will be doing something different (for Democrats at any rate, it’s a strategy the right has been using for years) and it will be essential to protect abortion rights.…
I have friends who are managing difficult situations with their own kids that age. It’s not as simple as forbidding contact or reporting people to authorities. I’ve seen kids attempt suicide when parents have tried to set boundaries around things much less enticing than a trip to London with a celebrity. And given…
That Ritter bar is A-MAZING, my absolute favorite Ritter. Something of the overall effect of a Krackel but way, way better. It says “Knusperflakes” on the label fyi.
Yes, ultimately politicians are unfortunately mostly representing the people who vote for them - with added weight towards large donors, primary voters and volunteers - rather than the people who live in their districts. Add in issues like gerrymandering and unequal access to polls and things get skewed even further,…
Would even be better if one them was Giuliani!
I think it’s a bit more complicated than that. One of my friends refers to Roe getting overturned as a “dog finally caught the car” situation. Like all politicians in our inflexible two party system, Republicans need to cobble together enough different factions to get a smidge ahead of the other candidate. “Pro life”…
The thing is, shelf display plans aren’t based on what is easiest for employees or customers, they’re instead often trying to promote specific products that are either more profitable or where manufacturers have paid for space. There are companies (I used to work for one) that have virtual store shelves you can use…
As a manager, if I had feedback for a new employee I would pull that employee aside and deliver that message one on one. I would then give that employee a reasonable amount of time to improve, provide warnings if he/she did not (always on a one on one basis) and then start an official performance improvement program…
Speaking as a senior-level marketer, the appearance of the CEO is actually something that actually does matter. I’ve worked at more than one company where subtly (or not so subtly) making over and maintaining an unkempt senior executive was part of the team’s responsibility. A schlubby leader reflects poorly on the…
Plus I think there is lingering concern that the cartel might come after her if it looks like she is not playing ball - prosecutors were already on her to get Jimmy to flip. I think she is going to change her name and go out of state, and keeping a bar license doesn’t work with that. Maybe it will turn out that she’s…
Wasn’t there a flashback during BB where it was basically shown that the other “hermano” in the chicken business was Gus’s lover who was murdered by the cartel? Don Eladio also acknowledges that’s where the hate in Gus’s eyes comes from in this last episode.
This is a false choice, there are many performers that can do both. In Dear Evan Hansen, Ben Platt hits all the notes WHILE CRYING HIMSELF. He also comes from a well-connected Hollywood family (and went to high school with Beanie I believe, they are good friends) but you never hear anyone citing nepotism when he’s…
I saw another recap that surmised the same thing. Part of me was wondering initially if Gus seeing Saul’s powers of persuasion would encourage him to use Saul as a lawyer going forward but your theory makes more sense.
Definitely. Lalo may be a psychopath but he is too smart to believe an amateur would be able to get to Gus. He chose Saul and Kim instead of some randoms because they were easy targets that would be unexpected, but would be unlikely to talk or go to the cops given their own ties to the cartel.
I wouldn’t say it was dignified at all but at least a kindness to his friends and family to provide some answer and closure (if a false one). Not the easiest thing to do when there is no body.
I wish there was some way I could magically give you a thousand upvotes. It is beyond frustrating to me that Republicans will overlook everything from disagreement with their basic values (see, evangelicals voting for Trump despite his numerous divorces) up to criminal conduct (too many to count) as long as they are…
