If you want to watch an anime that really treats female characters with dignity and respect, watch Kino’s Journey (a 13-episode series). The main character is a traveler named Kino. She’s on a journey through a fictional world that resembles earth. She’s confident and strong without being over-the-top (her

I’m sorry, I’m going to go off on this a little bit. It’s bugged me for a long time.

Ken Bone, the undisputed winner of last night’s debate

She’s an exceptionally honest politician according to Politifact. The only reason why people distrust her is decades of Republican propaganda and/or latent sexism.

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Pence seems genuinely like a good person...

Hillary clearly does NOT have a sense of entitlement. If she did, she wouldn’t be working as hard as she is to be elected. Nor would she have incorporated big chunks of Bernie Sanders’ policy proposals into the party platform and her own campaign. JFC.

Hell, he’s the only likable person in the race!

I’m totally turned off by this whole election. I think Trump is a mad man and about as unqualified for the position as possible, and Clinton is a Wall Street pal and a crook. Her experience as a senator and Secretary of State, while nice on paper, leaves a lot to be desired in terms of actual accomplishments. Gary

Remember in 2004 when John Edwards got slammed by Cheney in theri debate with something to the effect of: “I’m here trying to be vice president and you’re here trying to be president.”?

From the Daily Mail article, it appears that both the bride and groom were veterinarians and had a good sense of when to euthanize. It’s so hard to know when. I had an 18-year-old cat who was such a trooper and in such good health all her life that when she had her last kidney crash and the vet thought it might be

Blindness is zero percent a reason to euthanize an animal. I am the incredibly proud human of two blind cats and they give zero fucks that they are blind. They are blind jedi ninjas.

I am forever grateful to the nurse who, when a beloved family member was in the final stages of cancer, told us that sometimes people hang on because they feel the family can’t face them being gone. She was on a minimal life support, but without discernible change.

Just to get the neighbor’s nasty kids off your mind: I’ve got a nearly 16 year old toy poodle. I got him the July before 9/11 and we spent that horrible day together watching all the people walking uptown from the trade centers. He’s fully deaf now and can only see a few cloudy feet in front of his face. But his mind

My aunt rescues cats and kittens, and she chooses to rescue those with terminal illnesses rather than just have them put down. She believes that animals, like humans, have the right to pass on in their own terms.

As a dog owner and as someone who watched her mother lose a very long battle with Lupus that had her last 3 years confined to hospice care, I can assure you this inability to let go is not confined to our pets. If you are ever in that extremely agonizing place where you hold on to hope for your loved ones while trying

I had a cat growing up that was my best friend. She lived to be 19 before she finally had to be put to sleep. I then had two kittens I adopted when I moved out on my own for the first time, they were like children to me. One lived to be only ten before she got cancer, and I fought tooth and nail for her, and I

This is an really asinine response. I stated my opinions, explained why they are my opinions, then conceded that I could be wrong and invited others to share their differing opinions with me. If you think that this approach is wrong then the problem is you and not me.

I totally agree with (d)! Using pastel dreads doesn’t seem bad to me, since I don’t associate pastel dreads as part of black culture (nor does ancient history). Also, hair is mutable.

a) Criticizing someone for appropriating Harajuku is silly, because Harajuku itself borrows from non-Japanese cultures.
