Car Wars Episode Inline-5: Guangzhou Strikes Back

To be fair.. the current F01 7 Series has an intruding chromebar.. still cheesy of course.

Agree with the overpriced statement. But that's because they're so small.

Ironic, because:

More like claustrophobic!

Since Southwest is such a large carrier, they will probably pull the aircraft from service until it can be fixed.

Just a nitpicky detail that might be interesting to some! Planes don't fly with broken winglets, indeed; they just take the whole broken winglet off. But they can, and will usually, fly with one winglet installed with a slight performance penalty (-1-3% depending on exact airframe).

Yeah.. this is more common (than it should be, unfortunately).. especially with the A380. Maybe this is why Airbus calls them SHARKlets!

Yes. But not as bad as BMW.

All Boeing planes have the sheep-skin seats! Very comfy to sit in. (787 below)

Selfie, you will not take.

I don't get it! I fly over holidays ALL the time. Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, so on. Never had a "problem" at any airport, with Delta. I've flown through LAX, SEA, SAN, SLC, JFK, ATL, and some other major-ish airports during peak holiday travel periods.

They should focus on the PacNW as well. Historically, there's been a huge Swedish car following up there, thanks to all the Scandinavian heritage/people up here. I've noticed, however, much fewer Volvos lately... and a lot of Audis/BMW. No Mercedes.

But this fits into the shifting wealth demographics the Seattle area

I find easyJet to be a great alternative for intra-Europe travel. They fly to all the major and secondary airports, and are marginally pricier. Closer to Ryanair fares than Lufty, Air France, British Airways, and KLM (god forbid I call it "Air France-KLM").

Are you an EU resident? I find it interesting that you say fly

I am amazed, as well!

Urr.. come to think of it, the last time I heard anything about the flight deck upgrades was before the A350XWB order. Add into the mix that Delta just finished installing new interiors on their entire international fleet, is just finishing up cabin updates to the 757-300 (along with winglet

I think people like you and I will (and do) pay for Economy Comfort (Comfort+ now..), Main Cabin Extra, and whatever United has.. but the average economy traveler won't.

I'm assuming you fly a fair amount, but not sure with what airline.. I fly Delta about once/twice a month along the west coast, with about either

Huge avgeek here. Haven't heard any plans for AA to keep onto their S80s. If anything, since the merger with US Airways is closing, they would get rid of their MD-80 fleet quicker. Combined, US/AA will have too much capacity; US A320s will replace the MD-80.

You might be mistaking AA for Delta.. because DL recently

Lol, I don't think so!

It is true that DL likes old planes, but the MD-95 (everyone calls them the "Boeing 717," but I say POOH to that) is going to mostly replace the MD-88. The 100 or so 737-900ERs DL has on order are replacing the upper range of MD-88 capacity, along with older A320s and 757s.

Yep, United has had them for a while as well.

This is an awesome story to read as an avid gearhead and avgeek.
