awesome that I learned about this in class 6 months ago! Pharmacy school ftw.

Exactly. It certainly is an interesting vein of thought for future medications though.

Yeah, so it attaches to the underlying tissue. But does it make the cancer stick to other cancer cells just as vigorously? Cancer cells are drastically different from the cells they used to be, and can present different surface antigens. So whatever this compound does may not work as well on the cancer cell.

well firstly, it would take at least a decade to bring such a drug to market, and that's if they already had a deal with a Big Pharma company. so it'll be a while before we see anything like this on the market.

Seems pretty cool. I'm always looking for that one thing that I got way back when. Hopefully this could speed that process up quite a bit.

I'm in my 6th and last year of Pharmacy school, and they're teaching us a lot more about patient exams and such. Even had collaborative labs with Brown med students, which was really nice because we were able to learn from each other. But yeah, most patient charts are dreadful.

True. Perhaps of multiple technologies are combined, it would be much more effective. And technology is sometimes slow to come in hospitals, especially with the tight budgets.

Well I'm still only a student, but some of the patient charts they showed me were just... absolutely horrible. I was shocked at how archaic these things were. Each patient's chart was a 2-inch binder absolutely PACKED with paper. Bad Xeroxes of horrible doctor's handwriting on lined paper, almost indecipherable

I don't think this will take off very quickly. Doctors, Nurses, and any pharmacist or pharmacy student within the last few years are being trained to examine patients, gather vitals, etc. They're trained to start their exam the moment they walk in, before they even touch the patient. There are a multitude of signs you

oops, just my dumb phone.
