I had a bear that was given to me. I liked flying so it had an old time leather helmet, flying goggles, and a fleece lined leather jacket. It was actually really cool and I liked it a lot. However, we broke up and I didn’t want it around. I put it into a Christmas donation barrel by the elevator at work to be handed

Water is everywhere in the universe, not just on earth. There are unfathomably large clouds of water just floating in space even, it isn’t limited to planets or rocks of any sort. The components of water are common because of how star fusion works, so there is a whole lot of water out there.

We are seeing water everywhere. Water on Mars, Encedelus, Ganymede, Europa, and even the Moon. Is it just wishful thinking ?

Bingo. You could also mandate that your employees MUST have straight hair that runs beneath the chin.

The ruling would be in your favor, you have the right as an employer to dictate dress code (including hair and hygiene) as long as that doesn’t violate a protected class.

Gut reaction here: I never usually buy into the “but he seems like a nice guy excuses”, Brad Pitt doesn’t strike me as a child abuser. Prove me wrong Internet.

Sure, but this sort of attitude, where they’re fixated on getting a “marquee name” at the expense of the character, seems a sign that the accountants are running the show, and that the movie’s probably going to suck....

I mentioned it in another post, but I really feel like she’s not capturing the confidence that Motoko has. The Major always comes off as confident/arrogant/even a little bit angry or indignant. ScarJo looks like she’s playing the role as confused/uncertain... literally the exact opposite of the character’s usual

I’ll probably end up seeing it even though I wish they’d have gone in another direction with casting. Decent scifi is too hard to come by as it is. However it’s a modern story, and having characters of different races doesn’t bother me the way it does when they put an all white cast in an ancient middle eastern

Probably she gets it because of Lucy.

GitS is incredibly dense and complex in terms of story, which is why you usually need more than one viewing to catch and digest everything.

I highly agree.
I could give two fucks about the the whitewashing scandal and it seems Japan doesn’t either, so there is that.
What I do care about, is that damn opening and this music.

American Anime fans see ScarJo as the Major and freak out and whitewashing.

I don’t really mind Scarlett as the Major. Don’t know, just... doesn’t bother me. She’s a cyborg that often changes bodies. She can be whoever she wants. She may not even be a she.

Now playing

People in Asia building robots that look like ScarJo? Unpossible.

I really wished I remembered more about the anime movie I saw of GitS (it was the first one, I think. I always get a bit confused with the viewing order of that franchise).

I have voted in every election---including all of the local ones everyone ignores-- since I was 18. Where’s my Mark Ruffalo nude scene?

Same. I already knew and had somewhat come to grips with the idea of RDJ as a Republican, but the idea that he may not be a Trump voter is a relief.

Save the Day is a super PAC spearheaded by Whedon that’s trying to get as many people in the voting booth as possible this November (separately, not all at once). They seem to be hoping that those voters will go for Clinton, but it’s probably hard to measure results.

I admit I cracked up at Robert Downey Jr.’s “unpolished sincerity”.
