I think they’re perfectly allowed to express their outrage, and by all means, there’s nothing wrong with that. I do find that often times, people who champion “free speech”, ironically seem to want to silence people from expressing outrage.

I doubt Blizzard will bend to it. It would mean giving an in-game currency refund to every player who currently has it, and they have to know it would upset a fair amount of their players.

You probably can’t get rid of it completely, at least not without harming the enjoyment of innocent players. You can, however, minimize it. I’m glad that Blizzard is taking the initiative to try and make Overwatch as free of toxic jerks as possible.

Yeah, I think people need to remember that Japan is a heavily ethnically homogeneous nation compared to the US. As such, race plays a much smaller part of peoples’ everyday lives. Sure, it comes up now and then in the treatment of some ethnic minority or relations with foreigners, but its not really something people…

I don’t buy that it has to do with the Chinese market, honestly. If a Japanese actor was such a deal breaker for them, why would they even watch a movie based on a Japanese franchise?

It never really hit me before that like... Goku (and King Piccolo, but... he’s all... green) is the ONLY main character in that movie with a white actor. That’s... kind of hilariously patronizing.

In my case its coming from a fan of the anime who probably won’t watch a movie that felt the need to change the main character entirely rather than just cast a Japanese main character in a movie based on a Japanese franchise.
