I'm beginning to think that Apple isn't the one to be mad at for these patents...wouldn't it make more sense to blame the courts that allow companies to patent things like this? Not saying Apple isn't abusing the patent system, but if the courts didn't allow such silly/vague patents maybe that would stop all of this…
The biggest reason for me battery life...that is the reason I have a smartphone and mp3 player. I don't want to be wasting my phone's short battery life to listen to music when my mp3 player can last 2 days at least without recharging.

oh yea thats true, the speed is what definitely makes SD or CF better. Hmm yea I'm sure that we'll see (at least I hope to see) camera companies produce cameras that are capable of writing directly to an external hard drive. Doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to do.
Why wouldnt they hook the cameras up to an external hard drive? I know my camera doesnt work that way, but the more professional ones can.

wow I wish more people looked down this far in the comments. but yes I agree that Apple seems to be pretty good when it comes to repairs or replacements. I've only had my macbook pro's charger replaced, but they did it for free, no questions asked. didnt even check to see if my computer was in warranty.

WOW! I've been noticing this for awhile (glad it's not just me). The way that seemed to fix it for me was just pick a new song, instead of skipping songs. But I'll do this from now on.
