It seems pretty obvious that they're setting up John Lithgow to be Will Ferrell's "uncool" dad and Mel Gibson to be Mark Wahlberg's "badass" dad. But it'd be so much funnier and more interesting if those roles were reversed. The thought of John Lithgow chewing tobacco on the back of a Harley Davidson is already making

I think well-known actors genuinely like taking on his roles. I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I don't think they have many opportunities to play characters like Solondz's.

That's kind of the beauty of modern Hollywood, I think. The age of the *star* is over. No one actor can sell a movie. It all depends on the merit of each project (and a shitload of other variables).

Such a good line. I was watching this episode with my dad and he laughed a little too hard at that bit.

Following his separation from long-term partner Jennifer Westfeld, he's probably sitting back and enjoying single life in a post-Don Draper world.

He's going to show up in Baby Driver at some time this year. Even got a cool new hairdo for the role. Should be fun.

He's also deliciously icky in this underrated British police dramedy called Babylon. I was quite bummed when I heard they weren't continuing that series too.

Thanks for clearing that up! Now that you have explained, I've put down the revolver and made the decision to not blow my brains out. Not today, my friends.

He's sick?! Please explain.

The show did actually establish in the pilot that both Sabrina and Micky are smokers - remember their exchange when she tries to bum a cigarette in the driveway?

That online web series was actually released in 2012, but I agree… it's a very sweet story.

She is technically a wife in The Path, but she's not The Wife. She's actually gearing up to be the (I think) primary antagonist of the series and one of the most complex characters at that.

Oh, wow. After reading your post, I looked up the aforementioned "Join the IDF, Motherfucker!" clip. What an asshole. How many years exactly did he spend in the military?

Completely agree. I'm a huge Trier fan, but by the end of Louder Than Bombs I thought, "Well, that pretty much summed up everything I hate about American indies".

Hmmm… see, I really want to agree with you but I just found The Nice Guys pretty forgettable. As a huge fan of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Ryan Gosling in comedic roles, I was really looking forward to the movie. And, while it did have some great individual scenes, the story meandered too much and the whole conspiracy at

Speaking of Hail, Caesar!, this must be the first year in a while that a Coens Bros. film has come out and not ended up in the 'best of the year' list at the AV Club.

*dragged

They do mention it in the review…

If you ask me, he looks pretty damn good for 64.
