I've started to consider smearing the siding with vasoline and spraying the perimeter of the house with predator urine.

I did try some mothballs, but our crawlspace access does not extend to the area that they occupy. We'd need to either cut a hole in the wall or go outside with a ladder and climb up a couple stories to get access.
