It's also a shame that PC Gamer isn't what it used to be. It's pretty rubbish now.

Newer chipsets do not require active cooling. MOSFETS can and do require at least passive cooling, depending on the CPU.

It's not as bad as, say, Daikatana. It's playable, enjoyable in some places even. But it's still a bad game compared to the original Deus Ex. UI was horrible, controls were horrible, VA was pretty awful, ridiculously linear gameplay and story wasn't particularly interesting.

Not whistling?

This is pretty much it, though sound does play a part in stealth in Deus Ex games - but listening is nowhere near as important as it is in Thief and Dishonored.

That's true for all of the Deus Ex games - there's a much bigger gap between audio and visual detection for most situations. Thief handles them almost equally, but Thief does put more emphasis on lack of visibility in shadows whereas Deus Ex goes for just cover options.

Not sure what you mean by MGS vs Thief, unless you're talking about the stealth-until-you-kill-then-hide-the-body part, which is still just a choice. Doing takedowns makes your life easier if you can hide the body, but still they're optional.

Dishonored is worth playing multiple times, if only so you can do high and low chaos playthroughs. But trust me, going on a rampage can be so very fun - especially on levels where there are TONS of enemies like the Office of the High Overseer. Just set off an alarm and play cat and mouse.

If you enjoyed SS2, you'll enjoy the original Deus Ex and probably the newer Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I'd have to agree. Most of the time, I print out a series of screenshots from a game to use in my kinetoscope - and the colours just seem so wrong. The printer is working fine, but it just doesn't relate to what you're seeing on the screen.

Which? Freeze drying or Walmart Ice-Cream. One is an awesome process combining boiling, freezing, vacuums and sublimation. The other is a budget frozen foodstuff.

Sorry, just want to check first; can you only access Kotaku? Are you not allowed to access Google or any other website? Do men with scary faces and guns prevent you from learning anything?

Some achievements are too easy, at times only requiring players to do mundane things like pressing start. Some achievements pose an actual challenge to players, requiring people to earn their digital trophies. And some achievements? Some achievements just aren't possible, no matter what a game might say.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend to be one of those random pedestrians.

Step 1: All claims of bad behaviour are ranked based on number of reports for that player.

I don't recognize the pose she's been put in - all I ever saw was her crouched or running between cover.

I think the boss fights were unneccessary. The best "Boss fight" in the entire game was the one in Missing Link where you're tasked with shutting off the gas, and to a lesser degree the following scenes with the antagonist.

Going after low-level horde was fun. As a hunter, I'd go there and tame a low-level mob that was required for a quest. Since pets didn't auto-level up back then, it'd stay that level. Then I'd just leave it in the open, hide in the bushes and wait for someone to PVP flag themselves.

This is what I was thinkin - the tip of the wings where the lasers are attached is where you can see this.

The game, as a whole, was excellent. The loot system was just... annoying. It just felt like a chore.
