In a racing game, there would never be any reason to render with equal fidelity both cars and non-interactive bystanders. There would always be a better use for the hardware than that. Even in a Carmageddon game, having the zombies the same complexity as the cars would be pointless.

I think the "fail" part is that instead of it being a clean cut, you are standing there with a dying man attached to your sword. The idea is to either cut through cleanly, or cut and immediately withdraw the blade. Otherwise, you're defenseless against any other enemy.

Seriously, though, try using Paralyze on a falmer. They actually pop off the ground as they go rigid.

For this kind of show, it's generally the truth that early episodes contain all the funny/cool stuff and then it just goes way downhill like a Forsworn hit with Paralyze.
