Because Lauer was a white male who was moderately good at his job. Therefore it was taken for granted he was the ONLY reason the show was having any success it was. The women were considered fluff and therefore, replicable.

Agreed but Cruise can sometimes knock it out of the park. Watch Edge of Tomorrow (Live Die Repeat). Funny, witty and enjoyable ‘action’ sci-fi film where he plays a parody of his arrogant self and does it brilliantly. I think Cruise can, sometimes, laugh at himself. Depp certainly can’t.
From your blog link:
Well played. M-B.
Yes, Colin Farell was fantastic in Fantastic Beast and it was awful when he ‘changed’ into Depp. It was embarrassing to watch. I actually cringed and had to look away from the screen. I didn’t see Grindlewald, I saw Depp and all the garbage he brings with him.
Correct.
Dear Americans - I hate to break it to you but Megan not going to be a princess. Yes, she’s marrying a prince but she won’t ever hold the title or be called a princess. Sorry, it’s not how it works. She will become a duchess, however, and her children will most likely become princes and princess but Megan won’t ever…
Maybe not rare, but very important nonetheless. All these stories of abuse and harassment need to be told and heard. Thank you for sharing.
This behavior plays out in the film Swimming With Sharks (starring, ironically, Kevin Spacy as the abusive Producer) and the HBO show Entourage (with, also ironically, Jeremy Privin as the asshole agent)
I agree. Talk about stereotypes:
Yes, yes, yes. When I was 18 I worked for a year as a nanny in NYC. It was great. I worked for a lovely family. Every single guy I met socially asked if I was ‘dating’ the dad! Every one! It was unbelievable. My response was always “Ew, he’s old”, “Hell no, he’s old” or “No, I don’t know any 18 year old girl who would…
Like the idea and like the trailer EXCEPT it appears to be about the husband, not the wife.
As a kid growing up in the UK I used to hear that ‘insult’ used against older women. I always thought it was kind of cool. I had a grandma who was a proud Battleaxe. :)
What is this show? I love it already.
My personal favorite quote from Rome, among soooo many, was “A large penis is always welcome.” Courtesy of Polly Walker as Atia.
Yeassssss...Rome. Deadwood. Carnivale. Miss those days.
I really think his defence will be along the lines of “She was walking in my path towards me. I just wanted her to get out of the way. I didn’t mean to hurt her”. Wah wah wah.
Everything about Penny Dreadful was amazing.
