There’s certainly room for both models in the future of self-driving cars. I can see people ride-sharing, but I can also see people having their own self-driving car. My car could drop me off at work in the city, and then drive itself out to the ‘burbs to park and recharge itself, and then come back to drive me home.

Stepping out the front door relies on sheer dumb luck.

I’m not angry — I just write that way :/

No, not “understandably so”. Irrationally so. Kidnapping stories like Ariel Castro are not just rare, they are absurdly rare. Do this: the next few times you hear an Amber Alert, dig a little deeper into the story. Almost all Amber Alerts are either estranged parents or other relatives, or runaways. Yes, it is

Agreed. I go to lots of Giants games, and only drove once, and it was a mistake. So much easier to take the train.

Same day. You can install Windows on Mac hardware.

I’m OK with this. I need a new PC — my old 7 machine is getting a bit long in the tooth. Probably a Core i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD for boot, 4TB hard drive for data storage, a reasonably nice video card. And bright shiny new Windows 10. That should do it.

The bottom line is that my choice of personal electronic device is far superior to your choice of personal electronic device. Plus, you’re an idiot.

Super laser on a space station? I think we know how this ends:

Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.

Aren’t the iWork apps already free in Yosemite? You should be able to just get them from the App Store; you don’t need to follow this procedure.

This view looks like a giant model railroad set. The ground is even close to the color of the plywood I mounted mine to.

Oh yeah? Watch the MST3K episode “The Starfighters”. Refueling can get old, faster than you think.

It can handle internet browsing and light use just fine [...]

Meh, Atari 800 FTW. I even paid the extra $400 for a whopping 48K of RAM.

Pretty sure there's only one man that could be in the suit:

CSB about FRA: The advice in the article says to follow the signs, and that’s good advice. But... last time I was there as I was exiting the gate I took a left instead of following the signs — and found myself at the train station. It was only after I was on the train heading out that I realized I had completely

Yes, I know what the "cloud" is. I didn't think I needed to clarify "no more data on *our* servers". That is a tremendous cost in terms of hardware, personnel, maintenance, backups, etc. Cloud storage is dirt cheap by comparison.

I'm OK with "disabling" the apps. If the apps don't show on my screen, and don't run in the background, I'll concede to them a little storage space.
