The problem is that they’re rarely going for the laugh. Instead, they’re going for the cheer. When a comedy show prefers partisan applause to bipartisan laughter, they’re completely missing the point.

SNL used to be hilarious. Even as a teen in the 90s / 00s, I could watch old episodes from the 80s and crack up. Over the years it’s gotten simultaneously more a) amateur / try-hard and b) unnecessarily political in an attempt to replace ‘being funny’ with ‘being relevant’.
Agreed (depending on the circumstances).

There’s an ongoing investigation for Manslaughter charge. It looks like a sentence between 2-20 years. 20 years in state prison is a lot worse than being fired.
Murder is when a specific person is intentionally killed. Manslaughter is when your behavior results in someone’s death. It’s an important distinction. For it to be a Murder charge, you’d have to show that she deliberately entered the apartment with the intent to shoot and kill Jean. It doesn’t seem like anything…
Simply firing someone isn’t enough. However, there’s an ongoing criminal investigation. Manslaughter + Deadly Conduct + ???.
If your girl suddenly left you without warning and refused to work on it, and then was with someone else within a few weeks - she was already with that person before you broke up. End of story.
The timing, lack of verifiable evidence, etc. make this another weak story. I’m inclined to believe her, but I don’t think this will do much to hurt Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
In the actual article linked, the DA who gave him a plea deal actually called the guy a ‘gentleman’. What the hell? He choked a chick unconscious while telling her he was going to kill her, and then sexually assaulted her. Dudes like that don’t deserve 1-2 years, they deserve to be castrated.
Since it happened ~35 years ago (statute of limitations),2/3 parties are denying anything happened, and the allegation itself is actually pretty mild, my question was - what will the FBI actually ‘investigate’? It’s a legit question, my good bitch.
That’s not trivializing, that's what actually happened. Asshole.
I don’t have a horse in this race, and generally assume politicians (especially white male ones) to be corrupt, dishonest, and predatory by nature. Honestly don’t even know why I was arguing, except that I raise an eyebrow at how the media is trying to spin this as a sinister two-man attempted rape.
There is zero evidence and 2/3 people involved deny it ever happening - with ‘it’ being a moment of over-the-clothes foreplay that ended without so much as a button undone... 3.5 decades ago. Not to trivialize, but I’m just not clear on what exactly the FBI could ‘investigate’.
I pretty much assume white dudes with ‘elite’ ‘prep school’ backgrounds who pursue positions of power are sexually predatory as well as corrupt and morally / ethically compromised. However, trying to spin this particular story as ‘attempted rape’ is really a reach.
Is this water resistant? I couldn’t find anything about it on the kickstarter page.

Words are wind. Playing the allegation game can be a really effective distraction technique for any political party / figure.
Funny how people complain about ‘witch hunts’ if it affects them, but immediately dismiss similar claims made by someone else.
It’s interesting you’re calling me a rape apologist. No rape happened. They were drunk, they started over-the-clothes fooling around on a bed, she started to get scared and then someone jumped on the bed and broke it up.
“I remember someone fumbled with my clothes for a minute at a party 30+ years ago. I don’t remember who else was there, where the party was, or how I got there. I didn’t mention it to anyone until recently, because reasons. But I’m pretty sure it’s the same person, and now that they’re about to be confirmed to the SC,…
