I agree, but it didn’t say anyone had been run over. A couple people had minor injuries, including one person who ended up on the car’s hood for a moment. The car didn’t plow into a crowd - it honked at a mass of people blocking the street, at which point they surrounded it and began pounding it.

In this particular case, yeah, the middle finger sort of negates any protestations of innocence / ignorance he might make.
