Angle over would be acceptable but lean down not. The boat is not leaning down, it is leaning over. At no point is the boat being bent into a curve or an angle (although the mast will be bending a little due to the inherent flexibility of said mast).

If I was being pedantic I would point out the technical term for what the boat is doing. I’m merely pointing out that the sentence doesn’t make sense because the wrong word is being used to describe what is happening to the boat.
